The Inspiration - Sri Guru Amar Das Ji

Born in 1479, Sri Guru Amar Das Ji was the third Guru of the Sikhs. He preached and practiced the ideal of serving the needy as the supreme worship of God. He established the unique institution of "Langar" (free community Kitchen) to serve as a symbol of universal brotherhood and equality for mankind regardless of caste/ creed, race/colour and rich or poor. His deep concern and involvement with the suffering humanity has been the guiding Light and inspiration behind, The Baba Jaswant Singh Trust's mission of alleviating misery by establishing a Hospital of international standard health care facilities in Punjab.

As children of God and blessed with all the material bounties, we are ordained to share it with our less fortunate brethren as a part of our debt to the world we live in.

In the same spirit of selfless service, we have embarked on a virtuous mission to alleviate the sufferings of ailing humanity & to provide quality health care for all by building a super-specialty hospital with state-of-the art diagnostic & therapeutic facilities.

The Hospital is dedicated to the memory of the great Sri Guru Amar Das Ji, who propagated the concept of selfless service as supreme worship of the Almighty. The Hospital will be an embodiment of His ideals of service, brotherhood and equality.
